Feeling stressed? Try taking a quick 10 minute walk. Walking is a great stress reducer, and research shows that many common physical conditions such as headaches and chronic pain are brought on by everyday stress. So, go for a walk! Breathe in the fresh air, and breathe out the negative energy. Instead of yelling “AHHH!” you’ll be sighing “Ahhh.” J
Finding the time
Did you know that you can break up your walks into three shorter 10 minute walks and still get the benefits of a 30 minute walk? It’s true. A 10 minute walk to get to work in the morning, a 10 minute walk with a friend during your break, a 10 minute walk to pick up lunch, it all counts. Short 10 minute walks will give you energy, make you feel better and look better. Now who doesn’t have the time for that?
Walk and Talk Meetings
Are your days filled with one meeting after another? Try scheduling a walk and talk. This meeting format is best for small meetings of 2 – 3 people and is great for discussion. Take to the streets and have a moving meeting. You’ll be surprised at how much ground you can cover.
Go in with a Plan!
Most grocery stores have a similar floor plan. When you enter the store, you usually pass the fresh produce first, then the meat section, dairy, and onto the breads and bakery. Throughout the middle of the store is where you find packaged and canned foods, including impulse items that are not likely on your shopping list. Be a health-savvy shopper and shop along the walls of the grocery store. You will save time and money, too! Write a shopping list— and stick to it!
