Tips for Healthy Living

You are faced with many choices throughout the day. Here are some ways that you can incorporate healthy choices into your day.

Start Walking

You don't have to walk 30 minutes a day all at once. You can break it up into three, 10 minute walks and still get the health benefits.
Here are some ways you can make walking a part of your everyday routine.

  • Take a walk around the block. during your breaks and at lunch.
  • Run your errands, instead of driving.
  • Schedule a "walk and talk." This moving meeting format gets you out of the office and is great for two to three people.

Eating Healthy

There are many  ways to eat more fruits and vegetables everyday. It's easy!

  • Add fruit to your cereal
  • Choose a green salad instead of macaroni salad
  • Snack on crunchy veggies rather than chips
  • Add fruits and vegetables when you pack your lunch or your child’s lunch
  • Bring fruits or vegetables to your family potluck
  • Double your veggies at dinner
  • Have sweet fruit for dessert
