2007 Physical Activity and Nutrition Summit 

On October 2, 2007, the Hawaii State Department of Health, Tobacco Settlement Project, Healthy Hawaii Initiative hosted a Physical Activity and Nutrition Summit. This first ever event brought together over 300 representatives from businesses, schools, and community agencies to showcase systems of change models and best practices in physical activity and nutrition in Hawaii and in the nation.
 The summit featured prominent national speakers, as well as, local presenters who described their approaches to physical activity and nutrition in the workplace, schools, and the community, discussed the application of Social Marketing principles, provided research to support their interventions and provided a toolkit for participants to utilize in their organizations.
